Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources.

The Director of Human Resources:

• Plans, leads, directs, develops and coordinates the policies, activities and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, regulations and recommended best practices, as well as reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of qualified job applicants.
• Administers and executes strategies in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing and terminations; oversees employee disciplinary meetings and investigations.
• Serves as district Title IX coordinator.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.

The ideal candidate is an effective, respected leader with a strong human resources background. The ideal candidate will appreciate the importance of the GJPS vision, mission and beliefs, and demonstrate the ability to hire educators whose beliefs align with the philosophies and practices of the district. The selected candidate will have significant experience with administration of state and federal employment laws and policies, including FLSA, FMLA and ADA, as well as collective bargaining experience. Additionally, the selected candidate will have experience with creating, planning and implementing organizational changes.

The Gahanna-Jefferson Board of Education seeks qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer. The Treasurer provides strategic direction for and oversees all financial operations for the district, including the employee benefit plans. The Treasurer also ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all state and federal financial reporting, develops and manages the district’s operating budget and creates the district’s Five-Year Forecast. The Treasurer provides accurate and timely guidance and updates to the Board, as well as participates on the district’s senior leadership team and manages a team of employees.

The ideal candidate is an effective, respected leader of people with a strong financial background. The selected candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain the highest standards of ethics, integrity and transparency. Additionally, the candidate will give and receive feedback in a respectful, deliberate manner and will possess management experience.

The Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Treasurer must have:

• Strong financial and detail-oriented reporting skills;
• Strong communication and listening skills;
• A proven ability to work well with others;
• The ability to facilitate and participate in educational discussions and decisions from a financial perspective;
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school finance;
• Experience with employer health benefit plans;
• The desire and ability to work collaboratively with district leaders and Board members;
• 5 years accounting experience
• A proven track record in management or leading work teams
• An Ohio Treasurer’s license or demonstration of the ability to obtain an Ohio Treasurer’s license (see Ohio Revised Code 3313.22; the District will assist in the certification process, if necessary).
