Job description:  This position is in partnership with a library media specialist (LMS). The twosome shares two buildings. Gahanna elementaries are on a 4 day "specials" rotation. So, the LMS is in one building holding classes for 4 days, while the alternative instructor (AI) is in the other building holding classes for the same 4 days. Then they switch and repeat those same 4 days at the other school. In those 4 days, grades K-5 classes visit the library, and it is the role of the AI to support the lessons introduced by the LMS. Library lessons, typing lessons, and tech/STEAM integration could be in a given lesson plan (plans are provided by the LMS). The AI also checks books in and out, shelves books, and maintains the space and the environment.

 

Salary:  $22.44/hour

Salary:  $115.00/day

Job description:  Daily building substitute teachers are guaranteed to work every school day and report to an assigned "home" school each morning.  They may be reassigned to a different building at the same level as daily needs arise.
