Summer enrichment opportunities, Preschool - 12th grade

Overview

Each year the Gahanna-Jefferson Public School district offers a wide variety of summer courses for students—preschool through high school—as part of the 'Journey To Learning' program. There are programs for intervention/remediation, high school credit and make-up classes.

Preschool will be at Clark Hall Preschool Center.  Pre-K, kindergarten enhancement, and classes for reading and math improvement for grades 1-4 will be at High Point Elementary, while language arts and math improvement classes for grades 5-8 will be at Middle School East. For high school students, the following new credit classes are offered: physical education, health, and speech. Make-up credit classes are also offered for English, math, social studies, science, Modern World History, American History, and U.S. Government.

Cross Categorical classroom is also available (grades K-8).

Transportation is provided for GJPS K-8 students only. Additionally, the federal food service program is not available during the summer months; however, many community-based organizations may provide similar services.

Summer school registration begins Mon., April 2, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. at our district office. Brochures will be available April 2nd at all school locations as well as our district office at 160 South Hamilton Road.  Please see the links below for summer school brochures.

Elementary (Preschool through 4th grade) (PDF)

    Classes offered from 8 - 10am and 10am - 12pm
    (Chinese enrichment class offered June 4-15, 8am - 10am)

Middle (5th - 8th grade) (PDF)

  • June 4 - 28, Middle School East
    Classes offered from 8:10 - 10:10am and 10:10am - 12:10pm 

High (9th - 12th grade) (PDF)

All classes offered at Lincoln High School and are morning classes, unless otherwise noted.

  • Algebra I (AM and PM class)
  • Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-calculus
  • Biology
  • Physical Science (AM and PM class)
  • Modern World History, American History, U.S. Government

 

Registration

The deadline to enroll for most classes is Tuesday, May 29.  No registrations will be accepted after the deadline.
