A group of Gahanna Lincoln High School Intervention Specialists and Coordinator of Special Education has received the Adam Stuart Linhart fund of the Columbus Foundation. The fund is for $10,000 and is given to support students with disabilities and their families.

The staff worked over the summer to craft a program model and proposal that engages and targets high school students most in need of individualized career development so that they successfully graduate from high school with lasting connections to people and employers who can help them navigate adult work-life.

The program is called Transition Tuesdays and will be supporting seniors who are intending to be fully employed after graduation. The students are all identified as students with disabilities under IDEIA and are receiving the most intensive behavior or emotional support available at Gahanna Lincoln High School.

Transition Tuesdays started with an idea of supporting students in unique situations so they could obtain and keep employment to support themselves and be an asset to their future organization.

The staff who received the grant are; Jeremy VanMeter, Kellie Bommer, Ryan Callihan, Mary Reed, and Corinne Fields. The program will take place during the 2017-2018 school-year.
