Gahanna Lincoln High School football players once again found a way to “pay it forward” to the community. A GLHS family, who recently suffered a devastating house fire, received $500 on behalf of the Golden Lions.

“We call this our "Pay it Forward" campaign, as our football team wants to give back to the community any way we can,” said Bruce Ward, digital academy supervisor and varsity football coach. “We do something every year to give back, and as a team we felt compelled to help a family in need, whom many of our players and parents are close with.”

GLHS players accepted the challenge wholeheartedly and participated in a lift-a-thon, raising pledges per pound of weight lifted by each player, to generate the donation.

“It’s important for our athletes to see the effect of helping others,” Ward said.
