School Information
A progressive, academically rigorous school and a vital community facility, Gahanna Lincoln High School (GLHS) with a student population of 2,300 in grades 9-12 received an “Excellent” rating on the 2008-09 ODE Local Report Card. The school colors are blue and gold, and the mascot is the lion. Assistant Principals are: Ron Foltz, Robin Murdock, Art Prince, John Rathburn and Ralph Walton. The Director of Athletics is Justin Sanford. The high school is accredited by the Ohio Department of Education and by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. |

Faculty Information
There are 161 certificated teachers, 56 classified/unclassified staff and seven administrators at the high school. The average classroom experience is 12 years and 21% of the teachers have a Bachelor’s degree with 79% having a Master's degree or beyond.
Class of 2009
The 2009 graduating class had 521 seniors, 37 valedictorians, four National Merit Scholarship finalists, seven commended students and one student named as National Achievement Scholarship finalists. As well, around 25 percent of the class received honors diplomas, and approximately $10 million in higher education scholarships were offered based on data from the guidance office. A breakdown of the graduating seniors’ future plans shows that 77 percent will attend two- or four-year colleges, 5 percent will attend trade or vocational programs, 4 percent are pursuing military opportunities and 10 percent will be pursuing work opportunities.
Transportation

Facilities
GLHS consists of three interconnected buildings on a 38-acre site that includes a district administrative office building, Lincoln Elementary and athletic fields. “C” building includes classroom spaces for freshmen, social studies and special education, and a state-of-the-art technology center. Classrooms are wired for closed circuit television, Internet and computer accessibility. On a 37-acre site adjacent to Blacklick Elementary are a soccer practice field and high school baseball complex with locker room facilities.
Curriculum
Gahanna Lincoln High School offers a comprehensive academic program with a variety of courses to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Classes include Advanced Placement (AP), Honors courses and a variety of special education opportunities. Students may choose courses from the following areas of study: Art, Business, Computer Science, English & Language Arts, International Languages, Math, Music, Physical Education & Health, Science, Science Academy, Social Studies, Technology Education, Vocational Education, DECA Marketing Program and Work & Family Life.
Students may attend classes in School-to-Career or School-to-College programs through Eastland–Fairfield Career Centers. Architectural Construction Management and International Business are School-to-College Eastland-Fairfield Career Center programs operated at GLHS. Gahanna Lincoln High School participates in the Post-Secondary Educational Options Program in accordance with the Ohio Board of Education guidelines, allowing students to earn college and high school credit through successful completion of college courses. Additionally, the high school offers an alternative program through the Alternative School which helps students to refocus and recover academic credits in order to graduate with their class.
Advanced Technology
The high school builds on the solid technology foundation established in the lower grades by instructing students through computer applications such as word processing, desktop publishing, graphic design, computer drafting, CAD operations, A+ Tech Systems Program in computer repair, computer simulation, CD-ROM’s and the Internet—just a small part of the programs available for students to master.
Freshmen build their technology skills in the required “Information Technology Class,” developed in partnership with Eastland-Fairfield Career Centers. Students have access to two computer labs with new equipment and innovative curriculum. Currently, all sophomores are immersed in technology education in health classes and additionally all juniors in Career Passport.

Outstanding Programs & Features
The school enjoys award-winning traditions in music, journalism (newspaper and yearbook), speech/theatre, television and marketing education programs. Students have won many national awards and competitions in these areas. The high school’s DECA Marketing program was ranked first in the nation in 2009—their 11th straight year in a row as one of the top 10 chapters at the international conference.
