Hello Chapelfield Families,

Labor Day marks the traditional end of summer. Although we have been in school for several weeks, we finally seem to in a good routine. See below for several items of information.

We were all hoping that the 21-22 school year would be a typical one. Unfortunately, the COVID virus is still a concern. We have been very fortunate to have only three confirmed in-school cases. Many of you have experienced the frustration of having to quarantine your child or pick them up from school due to symptoms such as a sore throat or cough. Most of the time these students are able to return to school with a negative COVID test or an alternative diagnosis. I appreciate your patience as we navigate the continuing difficulties COVID presents. Gahanna Schools' ultimate goal is to keep students in school. With your help in following our protocols, we will be able to do that.

School pictures are scheduled for Monday, September 13. Ordering information will be sent home tomorrow. Online ordering will be available. Our school picture company is HR Imaging.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on September 30 and October 5. Please look for conference information from your child's teacher.

Jessica Long, library-media specialist, has scheduled a Book Fair for the week of September 27. More details to follow soon.

PTO News

Breakfast with Buddies was a huge success! Events such as this help make Chapelfield a great place for our students. Our appreciation goes out to the volunteers who generously gave their time early in the morning! The many happenings still to slated to occur can only take place with the support of many parent/guardian volunteers. Students enjoy seeing their loved-ones at school!

If you can assist with the mum sale pick up on September 28 between 1:30-5:30, please email Stephanie Bendoff  ( or Alicia McGovern ( By the way, the "Frankenmums" are not available.

Most of our classes need Room Parent volunteers. Room parents are responsible for organizing a fall party (Oct. 29) and Valentine's Day (Feb. 11) party. Jessica Meloro ( is the contact to volunteer.
