Dear GJPS families and staff,

We want to make families aware that several GJPS bus drivers have recently been affected by COVID-19. As a result, the GJPS transportation department may experience some disruption to school bus services in the coming weeks. While we continue to transport at full capacity, delays are possible depending on the availability of substitute drivers to cover routes.

As we work to minimize the interruption to services, we will do our best to communicate delays and bus changes with you through the Here Comes the Bus App. Families can prepare for potential transportation interruptions/delays by downloading and checking this app frequently.

We are proud of our transportation department’s work to keep interruption of services to a minimum so far during this very difficult school year. However, the next few weeks could prove to be challenging. We will do everything in our power to maintain a high level of service, but we could run into problems beyond our control.

We understand that any transportation delay is frustrating, and we know it impacts the entire family. Thank you for your flexibility as we work through this challenge.

Sincerely,

Steve Barrett
Superintendent
Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools
